CLIENT EXCLUSIVE

Structured daycare

Every dog on our floor has trained here. That is not a restriction we apologize for, it is the entire point.

01

ELIGIBILITY

Can my dog come to daycare?

Yes, if your dog

  • Has completed an eligible Ryker training program

  • Is current on veterinarian-recommended vaccinations

  • Is comfortable resting in a crate

  • Has been cleared for daycare by a Ryker trainer

Not yet, if your dog

  • Has never trained at Ryker

  • Has only trained with another training company

  • Is currently working through significant behavioral concerns

  • Is not yet comfortable settling in a crate

Daycare is not open enrollment. We do not accept trial days or dogs from outside our training programs. If your dog has not trained with us yet, one of our training programs is the place to start.

WHY WE RUN IT THIS WAY

A known group is a safer group.

Traditional daycare environments often bring together dogs with very different backgrounds, play styles, and levels of training. At Ryker, we already know every dog in the room.

We have handled each of them. We know how they read other dogs, how they take direction, what winds them up, and what settles them down. That is what lets us keep the day structured instead of turning it into an open play yard, and it is why we can put a group together with confidence rather than crossed fingers.

It also protects what you already paid for. A dog who spends eight hours a day rehearsing bad habits somewhere else will undo months of training. Here, the commands your dog learned stay in use.

A STRUCTURED DAY

03

What your dog's day looks like

Purposeful Play Groups
Dogs are grouped based on size, temperament, play style, and what we already know about each individual dog.

Structured Downtime
Dogs have scheduled crate breaks throughout the day. Rest helps prevent overstimulation and reinforces the ability to settle independently.

Regular Potty Breaks
Dogs are taken outside throughout the day on a consistent schedule.

Training Reinforced Throughout the Day
Daycare does not include a dedicated one-on-one training session, but commands your dog already knows — such as place, sit, down, recalls, thresholds, and appropriate manners — continue to be reinforced.

Trainer-Supervised
Your dog is supervised by the same team that knows our training expectations and understands your dog's individual needs.

Indoor, Climate-Controlled Facility
Play and downtime take place inside our fully matted, climate-controlled training facility.

Questions

Can I book a single daycare day?

Yes. Eligible Ryker training clients may book individual daycare days when space is available. However, we do not offer trial daycare days to dogs who have not trained with us.

My dog trained with another trainer. Does that count?

No. Daycare is open to dogs who have completed an eligible training program with us. If you have trained elsewhere and want to move over, start with the questionnaire and a trainer will tell you which program makes sense from where your dog is now.

Which programs make my dog eligible?

Eligibility varies by dog and training program. Your trainer will let you know when your dog is ready for daycare. Dogs must also be comfortable in a crate, current on required vaccinations, and appropriate for our structured group environment.

Is this the same as Day Training?

No. Day Training adds a dedicated one-on-one training hour with a trainer and is open to new clients. Daycare is the structured day without the training hour, for graduates only.

We finished training a while ago. Are we still eligible?

Possibly! Reach out to us and we can review how long it has been since we last saw your dog and how they are currently doing. In some cases, we may recommend a Day Training refresher before returning to daycare.

Does my dog play all day?

No — and that is intentional. Dogs rotate between appropriately matched play groups, potty breaks, activities, and structured crate downtime throughout the day. Scheduled rest helps prevent overstimulation and teaches dogs how to settle, making daycare both physically and mentally sustainable.
