Is this the right program?

Day Training gives your dog a dedicated, one-on-one training session with one of our trainers while you are at work. It is the program for people who want the results but do not have an hour a day to run drills themselves.

Your trainer updates you at the end of each day with what to reinforce at home. We lay the foundation, you maintain it. We also keep proofing your dog's commands against real distractions, working them while other dogs are playing around them, or taking them out to River Park.

All dogs must be crate trained, or actively working on it. We use reinforced downtime between sessions, so the crate is not optional. If you need help starting, our Training Tips page has crate training resources.

Questions

Is this the same as daycare?

No. Daycare is play, potty breaks, and rest, and it is offered only to dogs who have already completed a training program with us. Day Training adds a dedicated one-on-one training hour with a trainer and is open to new clients.

My dog is not crate trained yet. Can we still enroll?

He needs to be crate trained or actively working on it, because we use reinforced downtime throughout the day. Start with the crate resources on our Training Tips page, and tell your trainer where you are at on the questionnaire.

Which package should I pick?

Age narrows it fast. Two to six months is the 12 Day Puppy package, six to nine months is 12 Day Teen, and six months and up is the 20 Day or 30 Day depending on how much ground you want to cover. A trainer will confirm after reading your questionnaire.

Do the days have to be consecutive?

No, but you need to bring your dog at least twice a week. Spacing them further apart than that means the training at home and the training here stop lining up.

What happens at pickup?

Your trainer walks you through what they worked on that day and exactly what to reinforce at home. That handover is the part that makes the program stick.

What is the deposit?

There is a non-refundable fee of $350 to reserve the date of your Day Training package.

What does a typical Day Training day look like?

Every dog’s day may look a little different depending on their individual training goals and needs. Throughout the day, dogs rotate between one-on-one training with their trainer, supervised play and socialization when appropriate, potty breaks, and structured crate downtime. This gives us the opportunity to work on training while also teaching dogs how to settle and relax between activities.

How long will my dog be in a crate?

Crate time is incorporated throughout the day as structured downtime between training, play, and potty breaks. Dogs are not expected to be active all day—learning how to settle and relax is an important skill, too! The amount of downtime can vary depending on the individual dog, their training plan, and the activities taking place that day. Dogs receive regular opportunities to come out for training, potty breaks, and appropriate socialization or play.

Cancellation policy
